DAY 1-Arrival
Day 1: Arrival in Jaffna – Exploring Sacred Temples & Cultural Heritage
Upon arrival at Jaffna International Airport, begin your spiritual journey through one of Sri Lanka’s most culturally rich regions. Your first stop is the Naguleswaram Temple in Keerimalai, one of the five ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Lord Shiva. Adjacent to the temple lies the Keerimalai Springs, where pilgrims partake in ritual cleansing believed to bring healing.
Continue to Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, a vibrant spiritual hub dedicated to Lord Murugan, renowned for its grandeur and the annual Nallur Festival. After lunch at a local restaurant, take a scenic boat ride to Nainativu Island to visit the revered Nagapooshani Amman Temple, a Shakti Peetham tied to the goddess Parvati and serpent mythology. End the day at the historic Jaffna Fort, a Dutch colonial landmark symbolizing Jaffna’s strategic and cultural significance. Dinner and overnight in Jaffna.
DAY 2- Day Trip
Day 2: Jaffna to Mannar to Anuradhapura – Sacred Pilgrimage Route
After breakfast at your hotel, journey toward Mannar, a region steeped in myth and sacred lore. Visit the ancient Thiruketheeswaram Temple, another Pancha Ishwaram, linked to Lord Shiva and the epic Ramayana.
Then, head to Rama Sethu (Adam's Bridge area), a chain of limestone shoals believed by many to be the remnants of the bridge built by Lord Rama.
Afterward, continue your journey to the UNESCO-listed sacred city of Anuradhapura, the cradle of Sri Lankan civilization and Buddhism.Dinner and overnight in Anuradhapura.
DAY 3- Anuradhapura to Dambulla
Day 3: Anuradhapura to Dambulla, Sigiriya & Trincomalee – From Ancient Kingdoms to the East Coast
Start the day with breakfast and travel to Dambulla, home to the iconic Golden Cave Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is adorned with centuries-old Buddhist murals and serene statues, some of which also pay homage to Hindu deities.
After lunch at a local restaurant, climb the awe-inspiring Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century royal citadel with magnificent frescoes and panoramic views. In the late afternoon, drive to Trincomalee, a coastal town rich in spiritual and natural beauty.
Dinner and overnight in Trincomalee.
DAY 4-Trincomalee to Jaffna
Day 4: Trincomalee to Jaffna – Sacred Waters & Serene Shores
Enjoy breakfast and begin your final day with a visit to the Kanniya Hot Water Springs, seven geothermal wells believed to hold healing properties and associated with the legend of King Ravana.
Continue to the tranquil Nilaveli Beach, where you can relax by the ocean or opt for an optional boat ride to Pigeon Island for snorkeling.
After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the sacred Thirukoneswaram Temple, another of the Pancha Ishwarams, majestically perched on a cliff above the Indian Ocean. Its location and spiritual legacy offer a peaceful end to your sacred trail.
In the afternoon, journey back to Jaffna for your departure from Jaffna International Airport.
